JFG Commercial and Industrial Fencing was recently involved in a security fencing project for St Albans Primary School in Melbourne’s west.
Located in the City of Brimbank, St Albans Primary School has a strong focus on resilience, respect, acceptance and responsibility. These core values underpin the school’s learning environment and encourage students to take ownership of their learning and behaviour while developing independence, integrity and a lifelong love of learning.
Student safety was an important consideration when planning the new security fence. This is particularly relevant around school drop off and pick up times, when the roads and entrances around the school can become busy with vehicles and pedestrians.
The new fencing needed to provide a secure boundary around the school grounds and playground while still creating a welcoming environment for students, staff and families.
JFG Commercial and Industrial Fencing installed a black rod topped steel security fence at St Albans Primary School. The project also included fencing around the school playground, providing a secure boundary for this important area. The main fence provides a strong boundary around the school grounds while giving the site a neat, professional appearance, that is still inviting to children.
The design takes into account the needs of a primary school. The closely spaced steel rods make the fence difficult for children to climb, while the bottom section is designed to prevent children from getting underneath it.
Security was also an important consideration. The new commercial fencing creates clear physical boundaries around the school grounds and playground and helps discourage unauthorised access, while providing additional protection for students, staff and school property.
The result is durable security fencing that suits the school environment and provides secure boundaries for students during the school day. It also gives parents and carers arriving for school drop off and pick up reassurance that security has been taken seriously to keep their loved ones safe.
