Childcare Fencing Melbourne
We Specialise in Childcare Fencing
At JFG Commercial and Industrial Fencing we specialise in building fences for childcare centres in the Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne.
We provide a range of fencing styles to suit childcare centres. However, we always make sure they meet the safety requirements imposed by the Victorian Government.
These Victorian Regulations state that a childcare fence must not allow a child to be able to go through, over or under the fence.
For this reason, we recommend installing safety locks or spring-loaded latches to any gates for extra protection, as well as making sure pre-school child cannot climb over or even uner the fence.
At JFG Commercial and Industrial Fencing, we provide an extensive range of childcare fencing solutions throughout all suburbs of Melbourne.

Benefits of Fencing for Childcare Centres
In addition to ensuring the safety of young children, it is well established that a security fence around the perimeter of an educational facility significantly lowers the risk of vandalism. This applies to childcare centres all over Melbourne.
Funds that would typically go toward repairing vandalism can be better utilised for the benefit of students.
Instead, these resources can be invested in developing a safe and inviting environment for children, one that enhances their learning and play experiences.

Victorian Regulations for Childcare Fencing
According to current Victorian regulations, a childcare provider must ensure that any outdoor area used by children is fully enclosed by a fence or barrier designed to prevent preschool-aged children from going through, over, or under it.
This allows for a variety of fence styles, including tubular, Hercules, chainmesh, and weldmesh. While pool fencing is also a viable option, it tends to be more expensive.
Although the Victorian regulations do not impose specific height requirements, it is generally recommended that a minimum height of 1.5 metres is appropriate. The distance between the verticals should ideally be between 80-100 mm, and the distance between the horizontals is recommended to be no less than 900 mm.
It is always a good idea to consult with local authorities to find out if your childcare centre may be eligible for a grant to help cover fencing costs.
